For the first time since 1943 Easter Monday will fall on ANZAC Day next year, so the Bendigo Easter Festival Committee, the RSL, Chinese community leaders and other organisers have changed the timing of the festival to ensure the sacred nature of ANZAC Day is not compromised in any way.
Traditionally the Bendigo Advertiser Gala Parade is held on Easter Monday, but to avoid impinging on ANZAC Day memorial services the 2011 Gala Parade will be moved to Easter Sunday.
